I did a lot of paper scrapping over the Holiday break- and I realized that almost every time I begin a paper layout, I reach for Kraft paper as a foundation or simple raw chipboard to play with as elements. They are just so versatile- and really play well with the crazy patterns I love to use as well. I realized, I don't have many of these in my digi stash- so I set out to add some awesomely versatile basics to the ForverJoy collection. I wanted to create a few sets that of course would go well together, but also play well with all the other beauties one has in their stash. The first f these "Basics" hits the ForeverJoy shoppe on January 10th- BUT, (who says basic has to be blah?!) I will be giving away the 3 Basics to the lucky commenter tapped by Mr. Random on Wednesday 6pm EST.
Here's all you have to do: Reply to this post with an answer to this question:
What is the one thing you always LOVE to include in your layouts? What is YOUR Basic? (BE SURE To leave an email so I can contact you if you win, or check back here on Wednesday night, OK?)
Good Luck!
Good Luck!

Mine has to be stitches. I just love the heart they give a layout. :)
ReplyDeleteStamps, whether it be paper or digi. I love layering them, and how they can fill up white space very unobtrusively. Looking forward to seeing your new kits!

I love to use stitches and wordart in my layouts.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your new kits!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for giving me a chance to win :)

Stamps and brushwork are two things I seem to want to always add to layouts these days..
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to see where you take this, and hoping that I may have a chance to win..
But loving your style, these will most certainly be joining my stash either way.
♥ Thank you for the chance.
When I'm doing paper scrapping, I really enjoy good thick cardstock, I got some great ones in gold, bronze and silver that make my day so I use them sparingly and save all the scrap pieces. Photo corners are a must have for paper scrapping. I really love digital now but my next project will be all paper with some printing on sticker paper from my digital wares.

I almost exclusively make cards, so I usually have a stamp I can color. I so love coloring!
ReplyDeleteI always have to have some word art. My basic is good cardstock. Love your kits!
ReplyDeleteCharlene
My basic is a good ol' white cardstock for the backgound. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteWhen paper scrapping I gravitate to solid card stock and bold lettering that work with my photo. In digi scrapping I love using patterned paper, frames and brushes that accentuate my photo(s). I love the look of layered embellishments but find it very challenging to make it look right, it takes me too long and I am very far behind in my projects. Thanks for your inspiration and this opportunity. You are a very funny and inspiring person.
ReplyDeletehollybeth7@cox.net
Falling in love with stamps, but still new to digi scrapping so I love all of it! Thanks for the chance to add some really neat stuff to the stash of goodies.
ReplyDeletemonipixphoto@yahoo.com
Balance. I am a linear scrapper for sure.
ReplyDeleteJanine reindeermom@verizon.net
Stitches, I love to add stitches to my layout. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeletepamsothermail at gmail.com
splatter, sprinkles and the like are my basics. they add pop and focus to where i place them. thanks so much for the chance! purradox *at* ymail *dot* com.
ReplyDeleteI love to start with a pattern paper and ground it with a solid. I love that peek of pattern with the rest of the "stuff" layered on top. :)
ReplyDeletemnjenlittle [at] gmail [dot] com
I like layers of papers and smears of color... my basic would be word art though... usually with that smear of color over, under, or around it...lol... and I like using Alphas too. Thanks for the chance to win it before it hits shelves... LilGray26 *at* gmail [dot] com
ReplyDeletei always like some ribbon and journaling in each of my layouts...so excited about your new creations! i adore kraft too! my email is jasongravette at aol dot com. thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteStamps and word art are my favorite basics. Thanks so much for the chance to win! This looks like an incredible "must have"!
ReplyDeleteOops...forgot my email! treklimr at att dot net.
DeleteI always (OK almost always) have a frame on my layouts. Nothing fancy, just a plain one. I'm so excited to see the Basics creations!!

I seem to always add staples, paper clips, office items. I don't know why. Thank you for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI like to include brushwork, screening, paint swatches or some other subtle element behind photos or a grouping. It seems to bring everything together!
ReplyDeleteI always like to add flowers, dont' know why, but I always seem to. thanks so much for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI love buttons!!!!! And Ribbon! :) Thank you so much for the chance to win, this looks super-awesome!!!!
ReplyDeleteRegards,
Candice

I always reach for the Kraft, too! I can never pass up a new kraft paper!! Thank you.
ReplyDeletei want the appropriate frame for the photos. i choose the paper and elements to enhance the photos and not detract from them, but i want the perfect frame for each photo. i want old dec edges for photos from the 50s and 60s, or the ecko frame style works well for that era... frames are make a huge difference in the display of a photo.
ReplyDeleteI don't always use it, but I'm quite partial to glitter.
ReplyDeleteAs a CT member, I am called on to do traditional scrap layouts most of the time but I absolutely LOVE to make pieces of art with scrap kits so I will often use digital stamps/ doodles/ brushes in layouts usually with an overlay setting...
ReplyDeletemollyharbridge at me dot com
Thanks for the chance! Can't wait to see the collection!
I've always liked stitching, but I've started using more stamps and brushes lately. I enjoy flowers a lot, but they just don't work for my grandsons now that they are growing up =) I,too, love kraft paper! In fact, my favorite Christmas ornaments I ever made were from kraft paper. Thanks for the chance and I'm looking forward to the new kits.
ReplyDeleteI like to include stitching on my pages.
ReplyDeletelareau25 at gmail dot com
A tag for a date ... I love kraft paper, but don't always get to use in layouts, but I make a lot of cards with kraft/crumb cake card stock ....
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing some new kits and thanks for a chance to win.
I love flowers! Gotta have 'em! Thank you so much for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance at winning. What are my basics, floral whether it be plants, trees, flowers, anything natural. Something I love to include, animals and posers (fantasy).

Hmmm...what a great chance to win something and what a great question. I always include little bits of sentimental goodness nobody else would understand...a number, a date, a little saying or phrase. It keeps it fun and personal.
ReplyDelete-scrappin_gomer@hotmail.com
I dearly love a basic kraft paper, it is so versitile. Dress it up, dress it down a LBD. So excited for your kit.

The Date.
ReplyDeleteWhen you've lived as long as I have the dates tend to get fuzzy. So I always include the date on my pages - typed - stamped - blocked - layered - bold - opaque - scripted - digital - tucked away - front and center - watermark - trademark.
conniemiles@yahoo.com
I can't wait to see the collection! I almost always include flowers and leaves to cluster with. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeletelivybug (at) mchsi (dot) com
Journaling. I have a memory in my head, write about and than look for the photo to accompany it. If it turns out I don't have the photo that goes with the story I will look online for one. On deviantArt I sure will fin one. For me the story if the most important thing, I'm addicted to journal cards ;-)
ReplyDeleteI do both paper and digi scrapping too. On paper layouts I love to use a variety of beautiful brads in clusters and as scatters, but in digi scrapping I love to use flowers and foliage. I think the one constant over both is that I really like to use word/phrase labels to help enhance the mood or theme of the page.
ReplyDeleteI love to use ribons, and flowers and tape, absolutly tape!
ReplyDeleteLove your work keep going!
memoriecreations@gmail.com
Lot of Flowers, leaves, lace,staples,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to win!!!!
Oh, that's a difficult question ... I love brushes and splatters but I don't use them on absolutely all my pages.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance. It looks fab !
doggino at gmail dot com
i never forget to put flowers and ribbons in every page that i made. thanks for the chance to win a beautiful kit :)
ReplyDeleteazal1a@yahoo.com
I always use splatters with just a touch of color on my page. Also, I love arrows and use them a lot.
ReplyDeleteI love vignettes and frames with class. rboiler@twcny.rr.com
ReplyDeleteLove the video preview! What a great idea :-) My favorite element is a 12x 12 overlay with some king of varied edging. I need to at least two sides to be "closed". Thanks for the chance to win and looking forward to seeing the full kit. If I'm the lucky one... enelya at charter dot net.
ReplyDeleteI was a paper scrapper before diving into digital. It was all about the paper, and I think that continues to hold true. I love gingham, stripes and polka dots and have no problem using them all together. And if they happen to be kraft-colored and grungy . . . Yippee!!
ReplyDeleteMy go to would be kraft paper - I'm a clean simple kind of gal and that speaks well to my pyche. Thanks for the chance to win - pick me, Please, MR. Random :-)
ReplyDeleteThe one thing I always include is the date ... I'm always looking for creative and interesting ways of incorporating the date into my layouts ...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win ...
jambedian@cogeco.ca
Stitching. I love to include stitching in little ways and big ones too!!! Thanks for the opportunity!!!
ReplyDeleteMy basics are dimensional flowers. Can't get enough of them!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the way you did the preview!!! Can't wait to see the collection!! My basics are brushes and journaling paper strips, but I always use flowers and leaves in every layout.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!! :)
I love the preview!
ReplyDeleteI can't seem to make a layout lately with a square - perhaps it is because of Instagram or something else but I'm loving square layouts, square pictures, square journaling...
& of course kraft!
I always have to use flowers! Love the looks of your new collection, thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI include my initials somewhere near the journaling. I typically use a smaller font and sometimes a different font. The location might be somewhat hidden if I am feeling ornery that day...hehe. actually I am on the lookout for a font to use solely for my initial purposes.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for a chance to win! Your products are awesome!
I'm a ribbon girl - gotta have ribbon (or in a pinch, string).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance - definitely trying to add more basics to my stash.
It isn't always possible, but something of nature -- a bird, a butterfly, a flower, something -- seem to find there way most of the time. Thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI love to start with a photo cluster - but I also like some frippery! I truly like the uniqueness of ForeverJoy! Jacqueq
ReplyDeleteI love flowers and whenever I do a layout it is likely to have flowers somewhere. I am working on a layout of sledding this winter and this is one layout that will only have the closest to flowers I can get - snowflakes. Thank you
ReplyDeleteStitching around the border of my paper. It just doesn't seem finished without it.
ReplyDeleteI love neutrals with a pop of color, hopefully in a cluster. I also like simplicity. Of course that doesn't mean that occasionally I don't go overboard with elements but hey, I like that too!
ReplyDeleteI too like basic papers especially neutrals and the use of photo masks.
ReplyDeletethanks for the opp to win this.
I love having some brushes and/or masks in my kits, and I can not scrap without neutral papers. LOVE your new kit!
ReplyDeleteI`d Luv to win this kit because I am basic & simply for the year 2013 !!! lol and I luv it....To answer your question I always add the exact date with age comes CRS and Im always glad to hear with others have this illness ;~} So the exact month date year is very important to me ;~}..Hey THANKS for the chance ..crystal00nva03@aol.com
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely kit and thank you for the chance to win! To start a project my "basic" is a template. I may stay with the template or simply use it as inspiration and a platform to "dive" off, I love adding overlays (sometimes several) to give depth and life to my scrap. KayB.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous kit! I love to use masks or some paint smears to give texture to my LO.
ReplyDeleteLovely kit. Would be fun to play with.
ReplyDeleteI Am not always using anything but come back for butterflies
I love your chalkboard wordart! Thank you for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteAll of my scrapbook layouts have some journaling. Journaling is my Basic -- my journaling ranges in scope from a piece of wordart to a monologue that is the main focus of a photoless layout. Much of the time I use both my own writing and one or more pieces of supportive wordart.
LOve your kit. Thanks for the giveaway - whoever wins!
ReplyDeleteOne thing I always have is some sort of matting or framing for my pics. It is not always a classic frame/mat it can be paint splatter or some other accent.
I have to use flowers and love to use ferns and babys breath. Thanks for the chance. Kit looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU all so much!!! Not only was it terrific to read these all, you gave me some amazing ideas... I just ran the Random generator... and will be posting the winner in a few moments......
